hump day confessions of a road rager
i LOVE cars.
i have no idea when this penchant (read: obsession) for cars began, but i distinctly remember lusting after mia themopolis' mustang in the princess diaries and i literally gasped loud enough to disturb the people beside me in the theater when i saw the upgraded camaro for the first time in transformers.
i attend way more car shows than my gender dictates as healthy, and half of the pictures in my old iPhone album were my visual souvenirs.
i love the way they look, how they work, and just being in them in general. i absolutely adore road trips, and i have had some of my absolute happiest moments in my car.
unfortunately, as a DC metro native, i've developed some level of road rage. these are my confessions.
it annoys me to no end when someone leaves a gap between his/her car and the one in front at a light. a mini cooper could easily have made it through if you hadn't left a canyon between you two. i often grumble about these people while giving them the stink-eye...
which leads me to my next confession...
if you cut me off, speed up for the sole purpose of not letting me merge, or try to switch lanes on top of me because you're too dumb to check your blind spot, i WILL curse you and give you the stink-eye. i am the person that will speed up just to be right beside you in order to give you the stink-eye.
sn: i've only had one person actually look over at me while i was giving them the stink-eye, and i had absolutely no idea how to react, so i made this face...
along the same lines, if i do something equally douchey or dumbassy, this is my face...
and finally:
the reason why i only have a few tickets on my record is not because i don't speed recklessly - it's because i speed recklessly directly BEHIND the cop car that is also speeding recklessly.
unrelated confession: no, i am not really a middle-aged white male under it all although the pics i've chosen might suggest otherwise.
now please tell me i'm not alone and share some of your car-based confessions!
